How To Travel Without Wings Or Wheels
Some people find it not only fascinating, but also amazing to see quite a few people in the State of Montana traveling on foot. Montana is a very active state, where some people take extra pride in their health as well as appearance by doing activities such as hiking and biking during the warmer months, usually between May and September, and then the get around by snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or downhill skiing during the winter which can be anyway from October through April. So if you are currently active or are looking for ways to become more active and get into shape, Montana would be a gerat place for you to visit. In most of the towns, things are close enough together that you can just walk to them if you are in somewhat decent shape. Montana has great National parks that go for miles with nothing but open beautiful scenery to explore. You can hike through Glacier National Park, or Yellow Stone National Park or one of the other 6 National Parks that Montana has to offer. Glacier Park is great, because it stretches all the way up across the Canadian Border so tourists can backpack up across the border to see the beautiful scenery, and natural beauty of the park. You can stop along your way and stay in one of the campgrounds if you have brought your camping supplies with you or you might be able to purchase some along your way as you go from destination to destination. www.nps.gov/GLAC/ is a great website with a lot of very useful information as far as information on the park and its open season and hours, camping, restaurants, hiking options, directions, reservation information, weather information and much more. You will want to plan your trip and supplies accordingly with the weather conditions so that you do not get too hot in the summer and risk running out of bottled water or risk getting lost in a blizzard and do not have extra layers of clothing on to keep you warm if you get lost and have to wait for someone to find you.
